On Monday, August 26th, the mainland reunion committee met at Cynthia (Sodetani) Iwai’s home to complete planning for our reunion in October. With less than two months to go, the committee finalized plans and made assignments for our week of fun in the sun in October.
If you haven’t made your registration yet, it is not too late to come and join the fun. Details can be found in the post below.
Those that already registered, please insure that Linda has your email & cellphone information as we plan to send out a detail agenda 10 days prior to the start of the reunion. If you don’t have an email, make sure you know someone attending that does and get a copy of the agenda.
We’re just four months away from our 70th Birthday Reunion in Vegas. The excitement is building in anticipation to meeting old friends. As of today, we have a total of 78 attendees with more being added every day.
Please make your room reservations now. Availability is limited at the group price. Don’t wait till the last minute or you may end up at an inconvenient location like some did at the last Vegas reunion. (Booking code: A9C7C10)
We have a deadline for T-Shirt orders of August 1st. Please send in your registration today. Any registrations after August 1st, will not be guaranteed a tshirt.
To get that nostalgic mood started, here is a photo recently found from Ben Parker 3rd grade class 1957. I see: Phillip Mahelona, Clifford Fukuda, Jon Haitsuka, David Williams, Nolan Higa, Ronald Toyofuku, and Milton Haitsuka. Anyone know who is on the first row left?
Thanks again to our Rudy Obrero for another awesome original art work that will grace our reunion T-shirt. The mainland committee challenged him to come up with another new one and he never fails to impress.
Checkout Rudy’s Facebook page to see his work. Rudy Obrero Illustrations

The committee has planned two events at the Orleans Hotel & Casino:
1. Banquet dinner on October 22, Tuesday, 6pm-11pm.
2. Brunch on October 23, Wednesday, 9am-1pm
We plan on lots of free time to meet up with old friends and to make new ones! To help fund this event and keep the cost low, we are once again asking our generous classmates to make donations toward this event. Thank you to Greg Tsuda and Linda (Higa) Nyman for getting the donation fund started! Donations may be sent to our Mainland treasurer Linda at her address noted above.
The committee is working on creating another successful event as they have in the past. Our first planning meeting will be January 5th, 2019 at Nolan Higa’s home in Los Angeles.
If you haven’t been to any of the past reunions, make a point to attend this one. It will be a blast to meet old friends again. This will be the last formal event for our class of 67 so don’t miss this opportunity to meet up with old/new friends.
The planning committee is hard at work taking care of all the details to insure a fun time. Register now to help the committee with their planning.
Been to the school since graduation? Greg Tsuda thought it would be interesting to look at the campus today. Here is a photo and a short video of the campus.
See you at the 50th Reunion part II.
